The clip went viral for all the wild reasons, capturing the chaos as police stormed the restaurant to detain Jermel Jones, a 41-year-old man dressed as the beloved giant mouse. As officers entered the restaurant, they were seen speaking with a manager before confronting Jones, who was just trying to entertain the kids.
“We’re gonna detain the mouse,” one officer can be heard saying, which is both humorous and concerning. The footage shows police wrestling the oversized mascot into handcuffs while children looked on in confusion. One young voice even asked, “What are you doing?” as the situation escalated. Another child shouted, “Chuck E., no!” overriding the usual giggles and fun associated with the character.
